But with technological advancements, we can live forever through digital immortality. Instead of sending human astronauts to space, they can use an uploaded astronaut and avoid the perils of zero gravity and vacuum. They have successfully built and stimulated a part of the rat brain. Its director, Markram, said it would be possible to build a functional human brain within a decade.
Today, mind uploading is possible either by gradually replacing all brain neurons or by scanning and mapping the brain to transfer its information into the computer system. Millions of dollars are spent to turn it into reality. However, a great danger with mind uploading is that it can create digital monsters. Also, one can misuse technology and create havoc in society.
Although mind uploading raises a few questions, technological evolution is moving towards it. But the question is, can we really evade mortality?
